🌬Breathing is one of the few involuntary actions that you actually have some control over.
It’s a powerful tool of reflection and also adaptation.
What do we mean by that?
Breathing can give you a very clear reflection of what state your nervous system is presently in. This awareness can help you recognize what your system is sensing as threat, and take steps towards safety + resolution.
Breathing can also change our state. Bringing intentional control of our breathing has a powerful impact on our nervous system. In a relatively short period of time, we can go from sympathetically activated (or shut-down) to the regulated state of safe + social, through the power of breathwork.
